Ethical Oversight Policy for Hanif Journal of Information Systems

Purpose: Hanif Journal of Information Systems is dedicated to maintaining the highest ethical standards in research and publication. This Ethical Oversight Policy outlines the responsibilities of authors, reviewers, and editors to ensure the integrity and ethical conduct of the published articles in Hanif, in accordance with the standards set forth by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE)Council of Science Editors (CSE)International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE)World Association of Medical Editors (WAME), and World Medical Association (WMA).

Policy:

Responsibilities of Authors: a. Authors should conduct their research in an ethical manner and adhere to relevant ethical guidelines and regulations as outlined by COPE, CSE, ICMJE, WAME, and WMA. b. Authors should ensure the accuracy and integrity of their research findings, providing transparent and complete information about the study design, methods, and data. c. Authors should disclose any conflicts of interest and obtain appropriate permissions or approvals when necessary.

Responsibilities of Reviewers: a. Reviewers should conduct the peer review process objectively, confidentially, and in accordance with the ethical guidelines established by COPE, CSE, ICMJE, WAME, and WMA. b. Reviewers should promptly report any potential ethical concerns, conflicts of interest, or research misconduct to the editor. c. Reviewers should respect the confidentiality of the reviewed manuscripts and refrain from using the information for personal gain.

Responsibilities of Editors: a. Editors should ensure a fair, unbiased, and transparent review process in line with the ethical guidelines of COPE, CSE, ICMJE, WAME, and WMA. b. Editors should handle all manuscripts with confidentiality, maintaining the privacy of authors, reviewers, and other involved parties. c. Editors should address any ethical concerns, conflicts of interest, or research misconduct in accordance with the established guidelines.

Publication Ethics: a. Plagiarism, fabrication, falsification, and other forms of research misconduct will not be tolerated and should be reported immediately. b. Authorship and contributorship should be accurately attributed, giving credit to those who have made significant contributions to the research. c. Any concerns or complaints regarding ethical misconduct should be reported to the editor, who will investigate and take appropriate actions.

Compliance and Enforcement: Hanif is committed to upholding the ethical standards set by COPE, CSE, ICMJE, WAME, and WMA. Authors, reviewers, and editors are expected to comply with these standards and adhere to the principles of integrity, transparency, and responsible conduct in research and publication.
